Disclaimer and Mail Matters
Disclaimer:
All the stories found on this site are the property of me, Gaeriel Mallory, unless noted otherwise. Please do not archive them without permission, claim these works as your own, or claim them as the work of anyone else.
Photon's Crossing is my intellectual property. Please do not use Photon's or any of its characters in any story of your own without permission from me. I'm usually very nice about giving permission. However, I do tend to get a bit put off when I find that someone is using a world that I created without telling me.
The Misadventures of a Fairy Godmother is also my intellectual property. See the disclaimer for Photon's.
All the stories under the "Fanfiction" section of this website are written by me. However, the characters portrayed in them and the universe that those stories take place in belong to their respective creators unless it is specifically mentioned that he/she/they/it are my creation. No copyright infringement is intended and no money is being made off of any of the stories.
Is this a bit hypocritical of me? Well, yes. However, since Photon's is not actually published (nor will it ever will be, methinks), I would like at least a minimum of control over it. If it or any other original of mine ever does get published (Ha!), feel free to fanfic all you want though. Just don't tell me about it because that brings up all sorts of other legalities...
Mail Matters:
If you try and send me e-mail and you click on one of the e-mail links at this site, please note that I have added spaces to all the mail links. This is not to annoy you and make your life harder. It is to avoid having the spam spiders grab my e-mail address and then bombard me with junk mail. I get a fair amount of spam as it is. I do not like spam. I do not want more spam. Therefore, deal. If this is of some hardship to you to highlight those two spaces and hit the 'backspace' button, then tough noogies.
If you do send me e-mail, please put "Photon's Crossing" or "The Haven" in the subject header. Like I said before, I get junk mail. My inbox has a filter on it and if your e-mail address is not in my address book, you will get shunted to my junk mail folder. I do not open e-mails that have no subjects.
Please do not e-mail me with story ideas and tell me I should write them. Those will be cheerfully read and then just as cheerfully disregarded. I have a long list somewhere of potential Photon's stories and do not need any more. If for some reason, you have a dire reason see Telrondil and Louis beat the crap out of each other or some other silly idea, what you CAN do is e-mail me and say you want to come play in my universe. Tell me your story idea and I'll tell you yes or no.
Do NOT get pissy at me if I say no. Photon's is my universe. MINE. However, I am usually pretty flexible. So long as Photon's is the same in the end as it was in the beginning, I'm usually fine with it. Except for one thing: Mary Sue's. Hate them hate them hate them. If your story idea is a blatant Mary Sue, or even smells like a Mary Sue, don't be surprised if you get a "no" response from me. As I reserve the right to post all Photon's Crossing fanfiction to this site, I also reserve the right to NOT post them. What does this mean? I do not want poorly written, poorly formatted, Mary Sue's, etc. All Photon's stories will be G to light PG-13. No exceptions. None.
One last note. If you e-mail me, please use proper grammar. One of my pet peeves is if someone replaces 'you' with 'u' or 'are' with 'r' or some such netspeak nonsense. Also, the letter 'I' is capitalized, as is the first letter of each sentence and proper names. Periods are a must; commas I'm a bit more lenient about. It is not that I'm trying to make your life unduly hard but I really get irritated when I see someone mangling the English language like that.
